Daark just happens to be me. I've been moonlighting as a Vampire for the last 9 years.

Not dangerous by any sense of the word but dark none the less.

Its like multi-tasking but only one sided. Cienega has been slacking off due to less need of her work. Daark is doing a fine job of covering artistic needs, Custom Textures and building mostly. Builds for Burn2 October events. and other needs. Not very exciting. Not having a sim for Art events as Cienega  and not having a sim for a the large Texture shop as Daark. Stepping back is healthy for a time.

Looking into the future I as both avatars would be seeing a new sim dedicated to ART, Crazy-Fun 2D and 3D. Invitations to builders and artists that NEED to express month-long themes,  Watch for leaks of whats coming up. 

Meanwhile dont be held back by the restraints of RL art ...

Cienega Soon Gallery at Misali Closes May 9th 2010

After much thought and concern, I took a moment away from SL and relaxed doing nothing, my conclusion… I have made the bittersweet choice of closing the Gallery at Misali. I am not leaving Second Life by no means but the gallery situation will become an emergence in the near future, NEW in many ways ... its time for Change.

I hate same ‘ness and dullish things. I love new everything once in a while. Just like my music, never old music always new.

My home now, the free-Linden-home stuck in the middle of a million matching buildings on a 512 lot with no free ground to plant a tree in ... it will force me to think WAAAAy out of the box. I don't like being confined so if you see smoke over the top of all those scary-linden-homes, Its just me rubbing two sticks together over a smoldering new idea.

Art and creativity make a human whole …if we are not makers of it then we are collectors/users of it. But it will ALWAYS be important

I want to thank all of the artists that supported CS Gallery. I want to say thank you to each one that brought their work to be shown. I have been inspired and moved by your talent.

I will continue to support SL art and all the artists that create from this crazy place we play in, for some its not just play but a passion to create in. I have been awe of all the AMAZING talent in all areas of second life's needs, since the first day I stepped my avatar foot in SL ... be it, building, artwork/textures, scripting and programs, all AMAZING.

I will still be doing my Full Perm Textures, as they seem to always be the in-between glue on everything I do.

The Cienega Soon Gallery Group will still be in tact as I plan to support and encourage new and seasoned artists around SL I will sponsor shows from time to time and would love to notify all the artists in my group to participate.

After spending time studying some history of our government in the past .... in its beginning ... I found some things that are showing its head now ... again.

People mostly stay complacent, comfortable, unaware, oblivious .... blind to what is really happening around them. Like living in a box. Some boxes larger than others but all the same ... Box.

Some boxes are created out of lack of interest or in some cases a familiar knowing, not likely to venture out into the unknown. Strangely enough fear plays the biggest part of its perimeter.

An artist deals with: Medium Rules and Their Application, Censorship, Pier Pressure, Jealousy, All can be reasons they create in a box. Its like they are told these are your limits, you will suffer the humiliation of critics on a public level. Some artists bow to this pressure, even in the slightest way and backs down or quits.

The human need to create is in us all. Those of us whom choose to create unleash the magic from within and smile with our hearts inside out. Those, whom choose not to create, have tight eyebrows and criticize, thus is where Critics come from. WE don’t listen to them EVER! And you can quote me on this ~Cien “-) Yeah ... SL art is ART

CS Gallery Invitational 2009

"Both Sides of The Story"

Sixteen Phenomenal Artists have been invited to create; "Both Sides of The Story". This is NOT a contest, it is a display of a complete thought, and I promise you that these artists will make us think, change our minds or learn something new about emotions, plans, outcome and more.


It was a bit difficult to choose just 16 as the list of great SL photo artists surpasses that number by far.

Their work will be displayed in two places, in the gallery on easels to be sold if they wish, and the best part is the open display of their work on large pirms (10x10 max), out side in the Island landscape. Here is where they will lean, plant or tilt their work with up to 6 additional prims to convey the message a bit further.

Come walk the emotion & understanding when both sides are known. Let the artist show you something different or something you've felt before. The real story is this collection of artists all in one place sharing their soul.

This will be an exciting Show/Exhibit for our minds ... the days will pass fast for the September 1st 2009 Opening.

The fragile emergence of a butterfly continues. All around it, life throws hardships, some sharp and piercing, some like a fire.

There, just out of sight, looms the possibility of danger ... yet the chrysalis opens. When the wings appear perfectly marked in its planned beauty, they begin to move,
against all odds this being will BE ... and begin ANEW

Its struggles are not seen as an enemy, but its power to be alive ... survival. The first flight is proof that its hope is real.

Three views of expression begin with, "Complex" thus gathering 3 each of; Intricate, Tortuous, Enigmatic and Complicated. Next expression begins with "Regency" thus gathering 3 each of Invincible and Commanding.

All pieces are based on sepia, but with a moment of expressive color defining its view. An interesting collection ... three glances, three views.

Cienega Soon Gallery is now hosting her travels as Dragons, Wyrmlings and Hatchlings take a warm place in her art.

Come see these new pieces for this season. The whole sim is seeing some changes as summer begins to heat up. And as some of you may know, I hate the heat of summer so there is a refreshing rain storm to sit under with a cozy conversation spot.

The artistic layout of Misali, Cienega's Juicy, is meant to be photographed. Please enjoy the lush surroundings for your photos. Plus you have a few minutes to rez pose balls for your shots.

Saying emotion and feelings with art is like music to me. There is a flow of sound through out my work. Not sound effects but a beat from within. A little on the dark side and still light enough to find a connection.

Rancor is for me an important piece. It has a message beyond its dark rich color. Its trying to see an end to bitterness and the pain of betrayal. The over reaction of jealousy and the feeling of retaliation.

Here Rancor is a reminder that hate and un-forgiveness causes scars in both directions. The one holding the hate, and the one receiving it both stand bleeding.

Walk through Rancor ... there is a small moment of a break through when you walk into love. If you carry any un-forgiveness I hope you can see a bit better, maybe just release it and feel free for a moment.

Come see my carnival of displays playing to the pieces I've chosen. Some old mixed in with the new.

Juicy!

Sometimes all the plans you make, make a turn in a direction you weren't expecting, hoping for ... but not expecting.

Juicy is two galleries, the guest artist exhibit gallery, Juicy, and the main Castle Gallery, both now on the sim Misali. What a beautiful place.

Poison water, dark skys and my own home made castle.

A breath of fresh air. No clothing signs in the sky and no slingo shouts flooding the local chat.

Come see the grounds enjoy the mood of juicy. It may storm now and then as rain is always in my forcast. But be forwarned ... dont drink the water no matter how juicy you think it is ... its Poison, yumm my kind of poison. along with the mood music come chill.

You will find teleports throught the grounds to get around. They are somewhat hidden with a fern or two as to not spoil photos should you choose to shoot.

The Castle main Gallery has two floors. The main gallery will feature my newest works and the second floor matains the popular pieces that still please visiting collectors.

At the moment my Juicy Gallery is located on the sim but up at 500m. I am building its new location at ground level this week. Juicy Gallery is now exhibiting sabra Hemingways new works. She will be leaving at the end of the month. I look forward to seeing her work showing up in many galleries and in private collections across the grid.

Juicy Gallery will continue to be a place for New SL Artists to showcase their talents. I will be watching for exciting and intriguing new artists to invite to Juicy each month.

Thank you to all that visited my Castle Valeriya Artist Gallery over the last two years. I promise Juicy will be a place for visits and photos in a dark sort of friendly mood.(still a bit under construction, but open)
